In 2024, I played Skyjo, a card game, for the first time. I found the game fun but very random. It also lacked interactions between players, like Uno has.

I wanted to make the game less random and add a different type of surprises, based on other players, rather than on the cards' values themselves.

For balancing, I added more cards with a medium value and less cards with a very high or very low value, so that there would be more chances to get out of a bad situation if a player got into one.

I also added funny effects on some cards, that can influence what the players can do with the cards. Low value cards (that players want in their game) tend to have negative effects and high value cards (that can be dangerous to have in your game) have more positive effects, to entice players to take the risk.

I organized playtests among my friends to refine the rules, the effects and the game's balancing.

I made all the cards myself using linocut and ink.

My version of the game, rules and effects can be found in this GitHub Repository.
